Academic Achievements and the Whites Creek Cluster

Metro Nashville Public Schools has been designated an Advancing school district and achieved Level 5 TVAAS growth (the highest possible) two years in a row. We have the best paid teachers in the State of Tennessee and have put in place a leadership framework to ensure accountability and results at all levels of the district. three student in class

We have also seen tremendous progress in the Whites Creek cluster pathway, which Brick Church Middle will be a part of.

Under the leadership of Executive Principal, Dr. Brian Mells, Whites Creek High School achieved Level 5 TVAAS growth and has been removed from the state’s priority school list as a result of academic achievements. Whites Creek High has an Early College program which provides advanced academic offerings with college credits at Nashville State Community College and students can graduate high school with a college diploma.

Principal Mells will be a strong partner in this transition from LEAD to MNPS at Brick Church, helping to build and strengthen pathways between Brick Church and Whites Creek so that students can be prepared to accelerate their outcomes and be college and career ready on day one when entering high school. As one of the district’s principal coaches, he will help to provide guidance and support for the new principal at Brick Church through this transition.
